Sugeng Rawuh Ing Yogyakarta…

"Sugeng Rawuh," means "Welcome" in English, is a common greeting used by hosts to welcome new guests. So, symbolizing our commitment to hospitality, encapsulates the essence of this invitation, Welcome to Yogyakarta, Indonesia!

Yogyakarta is one of the Special Regions in Indonesia, renowned for its rich Javanese cultural heritage, stands as a bastion of tradition. Recognized by UNESCO as the birthplace of Batik, our city carries a legacy of artistic distinction. Furthermore, it holds the historical origin of tempe, a culinary staple acknowledged for its health attributes, extending its influence to European culinary landscapes. The culinary journey continues with the esteemed Gudeg, a gastronomic creation derived from jackfruit. For those with discerning tastes, Yogyakarta unfolds as a haven for vegetarians, presenting an array of meticulously crafted dishes sourced from diverse vegetables, roots, stems, and fruits. This locale serves as a nexus where numerous legends and myths, intricately connected to ancient cultural narratives, persist amid the escalating influence of artificial intelligence within the younger demographic of Yogyakarta.

Beyond its cultural significance, Yogyakarta is recognized as the "City of Students," a unique designation in Indonesia, the only city where leadership is vested in a King or Sultan. Presently under the leadership of Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, our city's landscape reflects the historical grandeur of the Ngayogyakarto Hadiningrat Kingdom, the successor to the illustrious Majapahit Kingdom. Yogyakarta, having served as the capital of the Republic of Indonesia, bears witness to the intricate interweaving of Indonesian history with Javanese traditions.

ISASS-AP 2024 unfolds against this historical backdrop, promising four days of intellectual enrichment from August 28 to 31, 2024.
